9:00 AM | Panel: Is Austin the next new york?
Austin’s commercial real estate industry is on fire. The sun-belt is attracting the next generation of tech companies and workers are following closely. The city boasts some of the best medical and education facilities in the country and investors are intrigued by the explosion of the metro area. Are mega-markets like New York still competitive enough to attract capital? Long live the gateway markets? On the flip side, does Austin have the infrastructure to support such growth?
9:50 AM | Knockout Networking
Knockout Networking is a structured networking segment where the room is set with roundtables and individuals are invited to share one obstacle, problem, or pickle in 30 seconds. Once all the problems are on the table, a designated host/facilitator invites the table to take two minutes on each problem to share ideas for solutions in a rapid-fire style.
The set-up will be: 10 person roundtables, 40 minutes total; two rounds of 20 minutes with one rotation.

11:15 AM | New Strategies Horizon
Increasing allocations combined with the search for higher alpha have driven investors to challenge the traditional definition of real estate investment. We’ll hear from three managers innovating core sectors and exploring new strategies that require more specific building requirements or operational expertise to meet demographic need. This panel will explore how investors are pivoting due to macro trends in areas of cold storage, grocery and the future of office space.
Noni Holmes Kidd, Parkway Properties
12:00 PM | Networking Lunch
1:00 PM | Fireside Chat: Judy McMahan, UPS
1:30 PM | Panel: 2023 Outlook
While no one can predict the future, it’s our annual tradition to at least try. Are allocators still bullish in real estate looking into 2023? What predictions can be made for 2023? Will big cities and downtowns come roaring back? What alternative real estate strategies are worth diving into? Views on co-investments, secondaries and creative new fund structures? Any advice for managers looking to raise capital?

9:00 AM | Opportunistic Investing: Obstacles and Opportunities
Private capital flows into real estate, but not without encountering obstacles along the way. Where are the pressure points today? Fundraising, term sheets, debt finance? Will deal activity continue into 2023? How are data and technology supporting investment decisions and transaction activity today? What are the obstacles ahead?
9:45 AM | Real Estate Debt Finance
Debt capital has been plentiful, fueling gangbuster commercial real estate investment activity even throughout the global pandemic. Will activity continue, and how will it morph in light of changing macro-economic headwinds? What types of debt financing will be most attractive in the next phase of the cycle? Should institutional investors be more excited or more cautious for year ahead?
Priyanka Garg, Mack Real Estate Group
10:00 AM | Coffee Break
11:00 AM | Sector: Multifamily
The Multifamily sector has continued to roar, and competition is tight. However, there are opportunities in the U.S. multifamily sector if you know where to look. Fundamentals and trends vary by metro, submarket, and, in some cases, neighborhood. This panel of multifamily investors, lenders and advisors will share their insights on how to navigate the competitive market today.
11:45 AM | Sector: Industrial
Disruptions to global supply chains have consumer goods and logistics companies scrambling to increase their inventories and expand their warehouse space, creating opportunities for industrial & logistics property owners and investors. Where markets are most exciting? How competitive is the sector today? Are there sub-sectors or niche areas within industrial that deserve more or less focus? What mistakes are investors making, and how can they be prevented?
Effie Floyd, Ropes & Gray (Moderator)
