To show up strong and engage our audience in a compelling way doesn’t require you to be an exceptional public speaker, but it does require that you understand what effective communication is all about. In this energizing and fun three-hour session, we will learn to communicate with impact and purpose from the inside out. We will learn the techniques to engage the audience from the moment we walk out on stage, embody confidence, compel the audience through heartfelt and dynamic delivery, and paint pictures and evoke emotions with our message.

Economists predict that U.S. real estate transaction volumes will fall significantly in 2023 before rebounding in 2024. With continued concerns about inflation and interest rates, real estate investors, developers, and project managers across the country are divided over how the recession will turn out. Some are cautiously optimistic, while others are bracing for a hard landing. Will we see an economic reset? Will investors be able to purchase higher-quality properties at depressed prices? This panel will examine the trends and discuss strategies for managers to set themselves apart as fewer investors and lenders provide capital.

Uncertainty as to if or how far property prices will fall and interest rate volatility has caused lenders to take a more measured approach, many of whom are pressing the pause button on financing new projects entirely. Lenders’ reduced capacity to refinance outstanding is also a challenge for investors and developers. Despite some of the less optimistic news, deals are still getting done. We’ll do deep dive into real estate debt finance with expert lenders, deal makers, capital markets, and debt professionals.

Pricing for REITs depends heavily on the state of the broader market, and global inflation and high interest rates have put a damper on prices. Will they fall further in the near term? Or, as optimism for getting inflation under control grows, will pricing recover by 2024? Our panel of experts will discuss the outlook for REITs and strategies for REIT firms and investors to find opportunities and avoid potential pitfalls.

Since the Great Recession, new home building never ramped back up to levels necessary to meet the demands of the population. Additionally, housing affordability has fallen to its lowest level in over 30 years. How are alternatives investors helping to tackle these issues? What are the greatest challenges for the players in this space, including regulatory and environmental concerns? In this panel, we will hear from managers, developers, and operators who are investing, innovating, and sometimes disrupting across the housing spectrum.
