agenda
Everyone is talking about what really holds women back as powerful communicators: vocal patterns like upspeak and vocal fry, too much “just” or “sorry”, imposter syndrome, an inability to Lean In or crack The Confidence Code.
In this segment, we’ll discover the physical, mental, social, and emotional elements that go into making your voice yours. We’ll also learn to identify our unique strengths and how to shift the habits that get in our way, such as how to deal with nervous system activation.
Women are navigating a minefield of expectations and “do’s/do not’s”
as communicators—often confusing, often reductive, and often directly contradictory.
In this segment, we’ll discover rhetorical tools for powerful story-telling and concision, including the actor’s tool that will transform your communication.
Let’s examine what authentic communication looks like in the workplace and the world at large, what voice and presence has to do with leadership, and how you can make your voice heard.
In this segment, we’ll learn a dead practical understanding of how communication really works in context, and how to make strategic choices that feel authentic AND powerful. We’ll also discover a new playbook for stepping into your personal power, influencing, and leading.

A lot goes into a presentation before it ever sees an audience — this segment will teach the
foundation of everything that happens BEFORE you get in the room: Crafting your words, using
the tools of rhetoric to get your point across, choosing your stories, organizing and curating
information, and understanding the answer to the fundamental question: “why my voice, and not
just a PDF”.
Preparing and presenting are actually two different skill sets! What’s different in the room? Use the tools of an actor to land your presentations with confidence while building authentic rapport with your audience. We’ll introduce you to some new tools for rehearsal that will help you get MORE out of rehearsal in LESS time, so you can walk into the room with confidence.
Participants prepare up to 5 minutes of a speech, and receive on-the-spot coaching/adjustments in front of their audience of peers. Everyone learns both from participating and observing.
